Ifill selected for Capital Football U18 Team

Wairarapa midfielder Bethany Ifill has been selected in the Capital Football Girls’ U18 team to compete in the 2026 Youth National League. After a vigorous series of selection evaluations, a large contingent of applicants was eventually whittled down to the final squad of twenty-five players.

Ifill, who has shown impressive ball skills in her recent outings for Wairarapa United and Solway College, will join a team stacked with players from the top teams in local women’s competitions. In fact she is one of only two players (the other is Cordelia Davies from Island Bay United) that don’t play for Waterside Karori (with nine selected), Wellington United (six), Petone FC (six), and Miramar Rangers (two).

This is the final year of the Youth National League as New Zealand Football changes the competition to a full-season, national club-based winter league. The current format comprises of the four top teams from the regional league, four federation sides and the Wellington Phoenix Reserves. Capital Football’s first game is away to Eastern Suburbs next Saturday, and their first home game is against Fencibles United at Petone’s Memorial Park. Kickoff at 11:45.
