Three games and three wins for the Giants
All three Giants teams scored good wins on Saturday. The Premier Reserves team were too good in their Intercity game at Porirua Park overcoming the home team eight runs to nil. The women travelled to Fraser Park to take on the Dodgers Divas and won 12 runs to 9, while the Premier 3 men were far too good for a young Demons team racing away to a 21 to 5 point win in the only game at South Park.
So after just two weeks of play both the Premier 3 men and the women’s teams lead their respective competitions in the Hutt Valley Softball competition. Both teams have two wins from the two games leaving the ladies sharing four points at the top of the table with their closest rivals Stokes Valley but are ahead with a superior goal difference (17 to 12), and the men are two points clear of Dodgers White and with a massive goal difference of 26 after Saturday’s big win.
The Premier Reserve team is in fifth place after two games but I’d expect them to climb up the ladder now that pitcher Jaxon Mulaga is here and into his stride. They are away again next weekend, this time to Tawa who they’ll meet at Redwood Park. The women have another game away at Fraser Park and will meet Hutt Valley Saints, while the Premier 3’s have another home game and will take on Cardinals at South Park. All the games are at 1pm.
